About
I live in Signa, a small town near Florence, Italy, with my wife Raffaella and my beloved daughter Benedetta.
I teach history and philosophy in a high school, but I am actually on leave to complete my PhD in Early Modern History and my doctoral dissertation on the Siege of Florence (1529-1530).
I have published on Florence between Late Middle Ages and Early Modern Period, particularly on the end of the Late Florentine Republic and the transition to medicean principality.
I am currently at work on two new research projects. The first one examines the customs of war in the Sixteenth Century, focusing on the treatment of prisoners of war during the Italian Wars. The second seeks to rebuild the text of an important document of Florentine history, a book containing records of taxes imposed to finance the Florentine army in the early Fourteenth Century.
